Brian, Thanks for the write up.
Did you relocate the cross slide nut to allow increased travel toward the operator? I think what most mini lathe owners have done is to mill out material in the cross slide base. One of rhe early jobs I did on the lathe years ago was to mill out the slot in the saddle and add a spacer to get more travel but you loose an equal amount at the opposite end of the travel, the new feed screw cures this.its a old mod as is spliting the nut into two, is a very old 7x10 mod I dont know who did it first, but I have added a couple of refinements to make it Even better the location remains the same. I will do another post later covering this and other work. Brian |
