Have most of the frame that will hold the arm and hydraulic cylinder made up. Testing the side plates for the arm.

I found that reference in the book "Tips and Tricks" and the bushing grooving pattern was specifically for oil.

For the record, the oil grooving is direction sensitive. The shaft rotation needs to pull the oil along the groove, away from the oil hole.

The article specifically said the grooving is not sensitive to this when using grease.
Got the jaw of death installed. Starting to get some size and weight to it now.

So is it some sort of robotic praying mantis that you are making Greg?

Nice work as always. You must be loving your CNC plasma.
Think the plasma table was one of the best things I ever made. Opened up a whole new avenue of design. Get rid of material where you don't need it and shapes I'd never attempt by hand.

Is this your own design, or are you working from plans?

Lovely project.
Another one of my plan on the fly jobs Al. On projects like this where Im working with mostly scrap from the yard its hard to make a complete set of plans in advance. Build a section and see what we have to fit with it.
Also this way I can't make mistakes, it was planned that way.
