I will say again that is a great looking product.

I had just started learning about machining when I built mine, and while yours shares the DNA, it's clearly an improvement. Many of which I can incorporate back into the original.

Yours was definitely an inspiration Al. Really glad you pointed out the clamp, was planning on that hook type device that would undoubtably have been a problem when I need to place the bends accurately. I need all the help I can get.

I was starting to get real worried about not being able to pull up this thread. I even was investigating how I could get in touch with you Greg. This firewood processor really interests me and it is getting close to being testable so I was really nervous.

Once you get the shaper set up multiple keyways are pretty quick. Can probably cut one in under a minute. The first one I had the stroke set slow to see how it was going, took too big a bite and snapped the 1/4 cutter without even mowning.



These sprockets will drive the drag chains on top of the log bunks. Cut them on the plasma table. Ready for welding.



These are the bunks the logs will feed from. Number 60 roller chain on top of them will move the logs along. There will be folding extensions off to the side. Its starting to outgrow the shop though.

I think I'm starting to get an idea of what you are really building Greg.  

Thanks Willie - I'm sometimes at a loss as to what Greg is actually building, so seeing it in video format is very helpful. One thing that is not lost on me however, is the quality of Greg's work and his capacity to progress through so many projects.

Thats the next project Willie, except steam powered, hence the wood processor to make the fuel.

I gotta get me a shaper- I have been making arbor spacers for the U2 mill when I get the chance (which is seldom) and the keyways have taken me a couple of hours each. Although somehow I feel that the gap between Greg's work and my work is more than just owning a shaper...
