I started this puller and posted the first couple of pictures over in the, What did you do today thread.

But since its taking more than one of two days I figured that I would go ahead and start a thread of its own so as sorta keep it all together.

I'm not going to repost the first photos here, this photo will show everything thats been done up till today. Made the cross bar this morning now all thats left is the arms.

Good idea it needs it's own thread, easier to follow.

Here's what I have now, made some jaws out of some probably 1018 hotroll which for this is probably plenty. have to top end of the jaws a little long need to shorten them about 1/4" but otherwise after some cleanup I;m pretty happy with the way it turned out.

As you should be. A very useful looking tool. Small pullers are not something you can normally find so making your own is well worth the effort. I had to make a crude one to pull some small bearings when I rebuilt the head on my mill. It wasn't nearly as nice as yours but it got the job done.

I can't remember how many times I could of used a puller this size to remove the change gears on my two smaller lathes. and numerous other things. I don't think that with no more pressure then can be put in it with just my fingers, now if I can figure out this new CAD CAM package that I have maybe I can cut some more jaws on the cnc mini mill since I have it about finished so that it can cut iron.
