Looks interesting I love old machinery, even has a single phase motor on it so you're part way there[if it works!!]
Graham.
This is one of the strangest deals. Next to this drill press is a guy who built a brand new grain silo and converted into his house. So the drill press must belong to him. I am going to try to contact him and ask him about this old press. I will keep investigating. here is a link to his story.

I think Keith Fenner from YouTube has a Drill Press like this one in his shop.
keith's is a Sibley and I think this is a Candy Otto. I am not sure but when I go there again I will look closer
That reminds me my buddy has one like that for sale for 100 bucks. I need to go see him. I used it years ago in a small shop i worked at and he hauled it away after i left...Bob
There is a very similar one about ten miles from here in a farmers shed, Mrs Rick bought a bed frame on ebay and it was stored in the same shed, I thought about it then remembered tha I already had too many drilling machines.
Rick

PS, it's probably still there and in much better condition than the one in the photos and stored inside!
I thought it was a Cannady-Otto here are a pic of mine, the way the rear arm is made makes me think it is.
