Heres another project i can't live without and use it all the time. Its a big headed live center and yes i used my cs hole driller on it LOL. I posted it on another site and took a beating because i didn't use the proper bearings for such. I didn't design it to run 24 hrs a day just every now and then if i need it. Now the best thing i use it for is when i am using a hand die with a small short thread i push the big head up against the die holder to get it started straight. I have also in the past used the tailstock quill but the big center will turn with the die handle. I did go out of order (pics) as the bearing retainer cut and the drilling pic was an after thought and i tore it back apart and added it later. Enjoy...Bob
You made your own bull nose live center. Cool!

Bob,
Nicely made mate,

A very useful tool to have.
So you used the wrong bearings, comments normally made by the same guys who never seem to actually do or make anything

Hi Bob
Very nicely done ,

,,ha ha ha ha i would not worry about the fool how said you used the wrong bearing , some folks can be a bit anal that way LOL ,,,,,,,,,,,,, i also used the wrong bearings in mine

a standard bearing will quiet happily take some axial load ,and for light use , here and there are fine , had no problems with my cone centres .

Rob,
You got to share how you made yours so shiny. What camera are you using? What's the setting? Lolz...
I'll ditch my new camera to buy yours.
