Hi  Darren , the flats are there so that the washers rotate with the spindle , it stops things coming loose when the spindle is rotated back and forth .

Then pass the vices along to me so I can QC the drawings. 

Hi Rob, still blown away by your quality of construction, and your toolmaking ability, Can you tell me where you learned your trade? I too love the vices and the stand, and it is amazing how many times you can struggle holding a part that is smaller than usual, I use a "tuned up" handvise in my big vise but they are a far superior solution. We must be getting close to the forge lighting video, I can't wait! I am still sorting 20 years of accumulated junk, in my workshop, but I am making good headway, Bit more concreting (should that be re-concreting, with the right amount of cement this time!) and I will be down to final fitting and decorating.

Hi Lads 

Well a tad more done , Knocked up the blower mounting bracket this morning  





This just clips over the bottom rail of the stand , the reason is two fold it  allows a degree of float  and once the forge is pushed back into the corner motor/fan accesses
will be difficult , this way I can just lift the motor/fan assembly out if needed.

Just need a bit pipe work welded up to join the blower to the control valve .

You certainly have an innate talent as your work is very professional.

Looking nice Rob , I like the motor mount too makes sense to be able to remove it easy to work on it .............as its easy to get off now it will more than likely never go wrong either lol as its always the things that are a nightmare to work on that go wrong as a rule
