Quote:I like the bars for hanging tools. I keep thinking I need to build myself a hammer stand. My hammers are in the bottom drawer of my tool chest, and they're slowly destroying the slides b/c they're too heavy.

Hope your back feels better!

Hi Al , back is much better today Thanks ,    same here ,I am desperate for a good hammer rack , you got any ideas  Chin

Cheers Rob
My favorite version is basically a pipe welded to an automotive rim, with flat stock run through the ring roller to create a pair of rings, roughly about the size of the automotive rim, one of which is smaller in radius by a hammer handle.  Then the rings are supported by cross bars.

Usually, there's a shot bag on top.

Here's a couple:

Hi Lads

Done a bit more work on the forge today , still pondering the hood so decided to make a work rest to support long pieces  .I did not want a floor stand , the floor is cluttered enough at time , I wanted something that will work in any position and stow away when not needed .

The Wilson rest  Big Grin

The long tube will have a tee bar thing fitted to support the work and the other end will be welded to the leg of the forge .

Rob
That MIG is "biting" in there well

I had an arrangement like that on a window fan in the shop of my former house, but not that sturdy.

Nice work!
