just wondering if any of you knowledgeable chaps can ID this old gas torch for me . i did ask in another forum a few years ago but no one could tell me much about it .
i can't find a name or makers stamp on it anywhere , a mate did say he thought it was for welding lead ( maybe ) .
anyway it was my old mans and it is a nice little torch it would be good to know what it is exactly.
few pics to ponder .
Hi Texx - looking at it, I'm wondering if it has been home made. It certainly looks very nice and could indeed be for lead soldering.

Welcome aboard by the way - why not post an introduction, so we know what you're into...

Hi and welcome Texx

The torch is more than likely a jewellers torch used in Silver and Gold smithing trades ,made for very fine work . nice fined

thanks for your input guys , my grand father was a tool maker in a ship yard and part time clock maker so it is even a chance that it was his .
on the intro thing i am in quite a few forums and i never know what to put in an intro so i kinda don't bother . as for what i am into well i would be here all night trying to type that lot and an expert at none .

So something along the lines of "Hello, my name is John and I'm a toolaholic" then. To which our little support group would respond in unison with "Welcome John".
Well, as a toolmaker in a shipyard, I'd say this lil torch would be a tad 'out of place', but as a part time clockmaker, I can see the connection..... that's a nice bit of kit, i'd have that on a shelf in plain sight.... I like old stuff...... just like I tell the missus..... and then I pick myself up.... wash off the blood....
