I have contacted Chevalier and will wait to hear back. I read over on PM that someone else contacted Chevalier and the manual they sent was for a later version, which had ball bearing rollers for the table. However, looking at the image next to the manual Ed posted the link to, the table shows vee/flat ways.
Hopefully I will hear back from Chevalier today and if I have no joy, I will contact industrial manuals and ask if they can confirm the version they have. Thanks also for the offer Ed.

I've always been a little sceptical of these sorts of sites, as many I see coming up in Google are just full of crap, spam and who knows what else. I've also heard the horror stories of expensive manuals turning out to be very poor quality reproductions.
However, I must say how pleased I was that I bothered to contact them to ask if they could confirm if the manual covered the standard machine ways/rack and pinion version that I have. Within a couple of hours of sending the email, I had this response from Adam:
"Here is a link to the manual. If you like it just purchase on my site. If it doesn't work for your machine no charge."
I downloaded it at work and had a look and was very happy with the quality (scan of a 1970's manual) and the fact that it was indeed the correct one for my machine. I immediately sent him an email, thanking him and I have just completed the PayPal transaction.
I find it refreshing that there are still people out there with enough trust to allow me to do this and so I really wanted to post it here, as I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another manual from him in the future.

Thanks Rob - if it makes you feel any better, I still haven;t finished my lathe (need to make parts for the feed system) and the motor and guards are still off of my shaper...
Ken - are you still wanting a project for your dividing head?

I'm going to need a graduated ring for the (missing) crossfeed handwheel. Now that I have a parts list, I looked these up on the US Chevalier website. The handwheel was $90.20 and the ring was $88.26 (out of stock).
I can make a handwheel.
Darren, you can make the graduated ring too.
