Full Version: Got a surface plate

looks to be a nice size surface plate and the roll cab idea should work well. At the least it should help prevent it from becoming another horizontal surface in the shop because we all know how that ends...

One is on my list but I will need to find a second hand one, given the cost.
If nobody wants it for their lab, an optical table at work might be up for grabs - but at 9' x 4'6" and about half a ton I can't see a way to get it home :'(
if it wasn't so far I'd let you come borrow my pickup

This is how I got all my toolboxes home (fully loaded) from work when I retired. Easy peazy.  Smile

Sounds about right for making one of the smoothest, straightest billiards table EVER.
