Cool design Brian. If I ever get my large scale projects done I want to attempt a scale engine of some sort. Keep the work coming.
Hi Billy
The way I look at it is that if you can time a single you can do it five times for the radial.
I just like to do things differently .
Brian.
Forgive me Brian but I have to ask a question of others. How many of you have notices that this engine is locked up? All 5 cylinders are at TDC with all valves closed. I know Brian, it's just the first draft and I like it and your concept.

Thanks Billy
Its a warning to all CAD users , when you are working on one part and then copy to look what you have done.
I was so involved with the cam drive that I totally forgot about the rest
Also as I was working I kept adding to the main drawing and copying without thinking until the end, when I tried to do the clean up of the double lines!!! it took the computer 3 hours to trace all the overwritten lines.
Another lesson learnt,

Brian.
Just having a little fun with you Brian. I'm no expert. Made a lot of errors on the Die-Filer prints. You are taking on a laborious project, my hats off to you.

Understood from the start Billy G I would be happy to have you look over my shoulder any time.
Look after that lady of yours. Brian.
O K time for a bit more,

First I must tell you that on the drawing the accessory shaft is shown connected to number one cylinder cam drive.
this is only to make the drawing simpler to do, in fact the drives are taken from cylinders two and five.
After a lot of head scratching I have made the oil tank integral with the crank case this allows the two oil pumps to be inside the tank and driven by eccentrics on the  accessory shafts and the distributor mounted at the rear of the tank.
The carb is mounted under the nose piece feeding an annular chamber. then out to the cylinder's
Still a lot of work to do but it's coming together.

I must be getting senile the distributor is driven off the camshaft at 2-1 ratio,  not the accessory shaft,
May be it's just square eyes from looking at this computer.
I will rub out the error later when I put in the prop flange ETC. Bash

Could you gear the accessary shaft 2:1 then 1:1 up to the cams?
Hi Greg.  It is not possible to get five large gears around a small one without overlapping them and it all gets messy.
I originally planed to drive the distributor from the number one camshaft and the magnetic trigger from number five.
but I seem to have lost the plot. I think I just got tired sitting in front of the computer.
However we are not cutting metal so nothing is lost, just go back to the original plan.
