Anybody know how annealed 4140 machines?

Thanks,

Have you been hitting the sauce?

I thought I had been through that recently. Mayhem confirms.

Ed, are the inserts I sent failing you in some way?
I only recalled as I was doing a search on 4140 a couple of weeks ago when it was recommended as the go to material for my drawbars. I'm hoping to progress some more on those this weekend.

I did cut one of the lengths of 12.7 ground and faced it and it cut very nicely. I'm looking forward to cutting some threads in it.

I don't hit sauce, I ingest it.

That's over 2 years old. You expect me to remember that thread. 17428 I'm an old fart, remember?
(Thanks for the link). Blush

No, I'm just getting prepared to work on a secret project that I'll be using 4140 hex bar for and wanted to make sure it was reasonably machinable.

Ahh! Remembering is a shortcoming for us, and a irritating fault of the younger. Rotfl

They say memory is the second thing to go.

Sorry, but I can't recall what is the first.
