Sounds like a good idea know where I can get a plan for making one.

I like to make stuff on the mill.
I made a couple T-nuts and purchased a couple grade 8 bolts so I wouldn't have to rob the hold down set I bought for the mill.
Google will be your friend here.

The simple stop is one that bolts to the back of your vise (you should have two threaded holes already there). Something like this:

Look at the various adaptations and settle on one you like or modify one to suit your needs.

Are you sure you made one - I know you made a lathe stop but I don't remember a vice stop.
