Hi!
I am a new member at this forum.
I want to ask your about the motor upgrade for my 14" Delta Bandsaw

Which technical specifications to consider?

Thanks
get a totally enclosed one so chips and coolant can't get in the motor,
Is the band saw for cutting metal or wood?

Oh, and Welcome to the forum.

Ed
If it's the older style Delta 14" like mine, it will need a 1HP totally enclosed (TEFC) capacitor start motor. Whether it's 110V or 220V is up to you, but most will work on either voltage. It will also need a mounting flange so it can bolt to a horizontal shelf. Surplus Center is a good source for motors, like this one:

1 HP 1730 RPM 115/208-230 VAC FARM DUTY MOTOR

You may want to check the available space on your saw, but I'm pretty sure it will fit.

thanks guys for the replies!
Yes, I will consider only totally enclosed (TEFC) motors to prevent the sawdust falling inside.

as for the brands, I want to pick out the baldor with these specifications

I'm not sure where to buy it online or offline..
That is a C-frame motor, meaning that it mounts from the end face rather than from a bracket on the side. Not sure if your Delta will accommodate it without a custom mount.

You could buy one from the place you linked to.  17428

I wouldn't get hung up on needing to buy a Baldor. Here's the 3-phase version of the one Tom linked to.
