More precisely how I made my own.

This is how I went about making an ER25 collet chuck. I wanted a chuck that I could take off the lathe straight on to the mill and back to the lathe without having to re-align it.

At first glance it looks a bit of a daunting and difficult task, let me assure you it ain’t difficult, I’m not in to difficult I’m only into easy, if it is difficult then I just don’t do it. What the heck, why on earth would I want to do something difficult. The challenge, huh, in your dreams. Smile

I made 3 items, a dummy nose spindle, the D1-4 adapter plate, and the ER25 collet chuck; they were made in that order.

This is how I made them, what suits me, what I think is best for me and only you know what is best for you.Smile
Remember there are many right ways to do the job right.
Look at other ways to do things, then choose the way that is suitable and best for you.Smile

I have said they are not difficult to make and they are not, however you will need to exercise a lot of care and patience to achieve the desired result.Smile

There are 3 parts, the links below will show how I made each part.
