I buy most of my parts from AIM surplus in Ohio. If you are patient and watch their sales you can get some great deals on AR parts, not to mention ammo.

url?
never mind.
The only ar15 parts that show up in search is the Spikes Lower Parts Kit and it's sold out.
Their site takes some getting used to. Usee the desktop site and look under accessories/AR15. There is a ton of stuff to look through.

I've done a little looking but haven't decided on any one in particular. I don't want the bottom of the barrel but also don't want to pay for the top of the barrel.

The Anderson lpk I'm looking at isn't bottom but it's not far from that. It does have good reviews tho.
My two cents...

I've built a few ARs from 80% lowers.  Could I do it from a 0%?  Probably but some of the processes, like a broach for the mag well (yes, there are other ways I could do it but the results might not be as good) made the prospect less than ideal.

For lower kits I try to stick with something of known quality like Bushmaster or Stag as some of the "budget" kits I've seen have had minor issues.

Here is a link to the first AR I did using the Ray Brandes information -  My AR 80% lower build

I've got two builds in the works right now where I am starting with raw 80% castings and I plan to finish up using a Cerakote finish.

Hope you find something useful here.

I just watched a series on youtube by a guy named Joe Pieczynski where he took a block of aluminum and made a lower out of it. His channel is his name.
