Hi Vinny, yep sure would like a tapping head and same for the spiral taps but I don`t have either yet but still need the tooling plate. It is just slow tedious going with taps I have but I`ll get there.  I do plan on getting both the tapping head and spiral taps just have to wait a bit on $$$$. Nothing but social security tends to slow down the purchasing power.        Not complaining - just saying.
Watch Wholesale Tool (http://www.wttool.com) and Travers Tool (http://www.travers.com) for the taps. Travers often puts them on sale really cheap. Watch ebay for the tapping head. As I recall you're using 5/16-18 taps. Travers has them for 3.88 ea and Wholesale Tool has them for $3.60.

If you order from Wholesale Tool, call them for USPS shipping. Otherwise they'll ship UPS for $$$$
Thanks for the links Vinny. Using both 5/16-18 and 7/16 14 on this job but I do a lot of tap and die work and I would really like to try the spirals out. Tapping head will take a bit longer to set the money aside for. I just picked up one of the harbor freight 4 x 6 horizontal band saws as well as a spin indexer, couple of 5C collets and a couple of other small items so it will be another month or so before I can free up any more cash. I can handle 2 or 3 taps this coming month though.
To much of a rush I guess. That last post should read "picked up a 4 x 6 harbor freight horizontal band saw.
The 12" x 24" fixture plate I made with the 256 threaded holes, is now attached to the Rockwell mill, at least for the time being.
Hi Penguin, What type of plating did you use? It looks like aluminum in the pic but not sure. If aluminum what type and how  long have you been using it and how are the threads holding up?
Both of the 2 previous posts need removed as neither shows the correct pics.
Really sorry and at this point I`m not sure what is going on. I thought I had the problem figured out but obviously not.

I removed your posts as requested. You might want to try clicking on the "Preview Post" button to see what picture(s) will show up in your post. If they aren't right then you can edit/change them without actually posting them. Just keep hitting the "Preview Post" button until your post looks the way you want it to. Then hit the "Post Reply" button when you are happy with it. Smiley-eatdrink004

I did click on preview but all that came up was the text and some number code where the pics should have been. Once I hit post the pics showed. Like I said not sure what is happening.
This shows the completed drilling and tapping.

And this one shows the inserts installed.
