Don't know if this is the right place for this but, I'm trying to tap m8x1 in a piece of GR5 titanium, do I need special taps, 'cos my normal tap wont even try! pulling my hair out here!😒

Sounds like a good time to call your tooling rep.  They will have a direct line to the tap manufacturing engineers who can advise him and then you on what to get and what sort of cutting/tapping lube to use.
