Very nice. Technically I can figure out where the seam should be based on the screw heads but visually lot harder to see.

I added two 1/8 dowel pins to locate the halves, The sides were machined after assembly, but the ends mated up after machining each piece.

I agree. At first glance it all appeared to be a single block (no pun intended) of aluminum until I noticed the screw heads. That is quite a fit!
