I've already got something like that on my list of "to-dos". I have the castings for this "Versatile Dividing Head" sitting on my counter at home. Just been too busy to start on it as of yet.
I though the castings and book were pretty reasonable price-wise and the casting do look very nice. If anyone is interested I'll take a pic tonight.
Here's where I got them from: Martin Model & Pattern

Sorry to hi jack your thread...
I started building a dividing head from a new 40:1 gearbox i got off ebay. Made a new shaft to fit a 4" 3 jaw chuck to. Bought some dividing plates off ebay from a lady in the UK and adapted them to the gearbox. I just need to make the handle to turn the shaft and a pointer...Bob

Hi Bob,
It looks like you got a good start on a decent dividing head.

Nice looking project there Bob. I wouldn't mind seeing more details on the build. Please? If not in this thread, another.
Thanks.
Ed,
It's not the best picture and they are starting to collect a little surface rust since they've been sitting so long.
