Thanks Dave, John, SmileSmileSmile

So, Dave, Thumbsup as you calculated, 0.05 to 0.10mm was good for press fitting allowance for, this mating, Brass and stainless...
Yes, John, we keep keeping the old stuff, thinking that someday might come of need,.. all end up with boxes of things, piling on us, Sweat shop looks like a junk yard. tried many attempts to clean out, but end up sorting the stuff, never beared to throw away.

Now, I have to fix close fitting Crank disk pins. Rolleyes they are little too lose to my like(ing). both hole and the pins are exact 3mm dia. but they are just lose... when the rots connected, it will not stay on for long.

Your crank project is looking very nice and job well done on the re-purposed drill bit. I'll remember that one.

You just described my shop, basement, and garage to a "T". Blush About every few months (year or two, who keeps track?) I resort to going through my "pile" looking for something that I can use in my son's science project or to fix something around the house. Without fail, once I've found such a piece I give a triumphant cry to my wife, "See! This is why I never throw anything out!" Tongue Also, without fail, she gives me that "look" and rolls her eyes.

Good job Unal, I'm really amazed you can work to that level of precision with a digital caliper, I NEVER get the same readings with mine as I do with a micrometer.

Ron, "Without fail, once I've found such a piece I give a triumphant cry to my wife, "See! This is why I never throw anything out!" Also, without fail, she gives me that "look" and rolls her eyes."
I'm sure I have said those very same words with the identical response.Big Grin

ask me how many times stopped and check it. Sweat It is amezing I use the dials on the machine and it works.. but check it again anyways, when I start trusting thye dials, than will be real fun.RotflRotflRotfl

you are luck all you get is "look"... sometimes, I see mine coming out of the shop with a largest hammer in one hand, and smalest screwdriver on the other, she sys she will fix that washing machines stucked lid, and than I get that "look" you talk about.RantRantRant
