cheers lads
Finished the turning on the block .
The spigot is a nice snug fit in the knee .
Still a bit to do
Pondering which way to mount the motor .
The lazy way ,straight out using a coupling .
Or stick it under the knee ,belt and pulleys ,,,,,,,,,more machining.
Rob
Rob,
What size is that stepper motor? It looks to be a very stout motor that should do the trick for you.

Hi Ed ,,,,,,,,,,, that be a 12Nm motor , loads of grunt

I think I have a couple of those motors. I'll have to see if I can find one and see what kind of torque it has.
Ed

Rob,
Maybe some day. I got those motors from work. They were going to throw them out so I snatched them up.
Ed
Not yet John ,,,,,,,,,,,still pondering
i will slap the Knee onto the machine and see how much room i have , if mounting the motor underneath reduces the Z travel ,i may mount it to one side .
Rob
That would be better than poking out of the front
Just more work
John
hi well dun rob i will have to cum and visit a gane to slow you dawn
