Nice work Billy. That Delrin is nice to machine isn't it?

Nine contacts sized and ready to be drilled and tapped 2-56 1/4 inch deep, then pressed in using JB weld to hold them fast. Then we do it all again with then other one.

Back to business. I found this Box Tool at a junk shop. They are normally used on turret lathes. I set it to cut the stems on the Distributor contacts. I can cut one every 20 seconds with this tool. It will come in handy to cut the 36 valve stems.

And then there were two.

Looking good Bill. That box tool looks interesting. Could we see more picks of it?

Bill Gruby

Can do Greg.

Thanks Bill, the v'd part on the left acts as a follow rest?
I think I need to make one of those, not sure what I need it for but it is cool.

Bill Gruby

Yes, the v-block is a follow rest. If leads the cutter to keep the work from pushing away from the tool.
Downriver tools has the prints for one.

Looks like it might work well for turning or threading long, slender parts, assuming the shank has a through hole. I may need to crank one out myself.
