Time to drill the mounting holes, 6 of them. An adapter was needed to mount the 3 inch chuck to the table. I chose nylon for this job for no other reason than its diameter. Pics should tell the story but ask if you don't see something. Next we will transfer the locations and drill and tap the case to 4-40. That was not fun at all.

That makes two of us, I'm not always sure either.
The pics above show all the holes but we are only concerned with the ones on the circumferance that mount in in the case. The next to tha last pic with the co-ax gage has a master I made while apprenticing on the Moore Jig Bore. It is .00005 accurate or at least it was,

Let's do it. Pic #1 the tools. I extended the drill an the tap. They are silver soldered. Pic #2 Transfer punching the locations. Pic #3 I needed a long center diill. The ledge is 2.000 deep. Pic#4 using ther drill. Pic #5 Tapping with a guide. Pic #6 Pump assy. in place. Pic #6 Pump was run usting the Drill Press and rubber air nozzle at 900 RPM. It was extremely quiet for running dry. That's it for today, grandkids are here.

I always envy you guys who are able to make time to take on these serious project builds. Between the work I have to do, even part time, I always have more stuff in the shop that needs attention than I can get to. I have to get my surface grinder going, I have an air compressor that needs proofing and the pump gone through. I need to run a new 3 phase circuit for my new(to me) air conditioner....and the list goes on. Maybe someday I'll have the time to build something just for fun.
Hang in there Tony, you will get there one day. It has a habit of sneaking up on you.
