Very nice job, I watch with envy, perhaps one day after I retire if I live that long I will be able to get into doing the many things I have planned of which casting in brass alum and cast iron are planned. Really enjoy your posts. tom

The sand is just ordinary green sand i get it from a local foundry
They call it" Mansfield Red".
So i presume it comes from Mansfield

The stuff I used to get from my local foundry (which is not at all local now, Australia) was always very black, hence the question, they used to let me use it and then bring it back and run it through the mill for reuse.
