Okay here is the hardest thing to leave in Ontario.

A young neighbor, with mechanical zen and already acquired knowledge before I met him that was reminiscent of my youth.
He inherited a Hendey 9x24 and lots of other stuff from me.
Boy! I wish he was my neighbor here in NS.
The driver came to pick up the 53 footer and was in a bit of a rush or I would have spent another couple of days loading.

When he hooked up he said "i'm glad I don't have to go through the U.S. I'm overweight. Just over 40,000 lbs!

If I'd known that I'd be loading 20 tons I might never have started!
Anyway, out the driveway he went.
We hadn't found a place when we left in Aug. '09 so we rented an unfurnished place and most of our house stuff goot moved in.
My treasures went to the transporter's lot until Dec. when we took possesion of our new digs.
Once installed I called for the 53 footer.

Lots of other rust some due to the condition of the trailer.

Yes, that IS water dripping in the trailer roof.
But most due to the fact that I hadn't the time to protect the metal.
I could have slathered every raw metal part with grease as I was loading it into the trailer but I was rushed and a babe in the woods, thinking that the 53 footer was heremetic. Ha!
I'll post some shots of my present shop on another thread showing what I've been able to recover.

Well, it's not like the machinery is no longer functional and they did clean up pretty well.
I should have known to take the time necessary to slather all unpainted surfaces with Rust-Check.
I'll know better for the next move. (actually the wife and I have decided the next move will be to an URN)
What method did you use to remove the rust? I've got a rusted-frozen machinist's jack with 40-pitch thread and micrometer graduations that my dad just gave me. It's something he made while attending trade school in establishing his post-Navy career. I'd like to restore it to working condition be unsure of the best way to get rust off of it. It's frozen-up pretty good.
