Your right those things look nasty. The shavings there are what I got when I tried cutting the shingles down the grain. They wrapped around everything in the band mill, had to go with cutting across the grain , not as smooth a face but manageable sawdust. The circular saw has to be at least a 1/4 inch thick so they create more waste than shingle, as the shingle tapers from 1/4 to 1/16
I dont know anything about shingles, but those door hinges are sumthin else.
Brian.
Greg, I figure your pic shows about a hundred+/- shingles already up so if you don't stop to take too many pics, at the rate you work, I figger you'll be done by Father's day!
P.S. good eye on the hinges Brian, they sure do look nice!
" Shingles " ? isn't that something you catch when you get old ?
Mike
Thanks Brian
Here's another set I made a few years ago. They brought me the door I did the iron work and hinges. The hinges have brass bushings and hardened pins to take the weight.
Why did I move further away from you Greg?
Bought Saddie a riding mower, she was complaining about pushing the old one.
I'd love to see the video of Sadie in action Greg!

Greg,
I'm curious about your new mower. I'm looking to get a rider and I don't need a big one so that Craftsman looks to be the perfect size. Can you tell me what the model number is on that? I looked on the Sears web site but they have so many that look the same that a model number would help. How do you like it so far? Does it have a floating deck?
Thanks,
Ed
