I got the crank done today. Not a thing of beauty, but functional. Just the first step toward getting my life back. The broken plastic crank is sitting on the drill table.

long as it works who cares if its handmade from metal instead of Chinese plastic
Trivial project but it had to be done. Milled a profile on the edge of this piece of aluminum for part of a fixture at work.

I charge double time on Sundays
I decided to build an 'Eiffel' tower in the garden. My wife wanted something for the climbing plant.
Not just today, yesterday as well.

Perhaps not as grand as the Eiffel tower, but my wife likes it.
Just have to paint it.

No - just painted with a rattle can - a 'browny' colour.
I live on the highveld a mile above sea level the humidity tends to be quite low so rust isn't a serious problem.
Why I'm not bothered about global warming causing the sea level to rise
