Unfortunately I didn't get anything done in the shop this weekend. Our Jeep club did assisted the National Forest Service park rangers in our area building up and widening a local hiking trail for Nation Public Lands Day on Saturday. Yesterday I spent recovering.
Mike.
Hi Rob, I used to like driving fast (only 120mph) until I came across a brick lying on the road. Steering around that made me realise how little stability a car can have at that speed, I only drove at 90mph after that!
Finished the shingles and soffit and facia. The squirrels have been evicted.
Sorry for the poor photo, finished just as it was getting dark. Will tear down the much too high for my liking scaffolding tomorrow.
Wow .......... you did a nice job there Greg
DaveH
made one of these today for a friend that made the pattern, my carving skills aren't as good as his.

OK - I have two questions:
1. Greg - what is a soffit? (nice job by the way)
2. Dave - what is it? (casting looks good)
Thanks Darren, soffit is the flat section from the wall out to the facia, which is the vertical section from the soffit up to the roof.
And I'll second your number 2 question, what is it Dave.
Darren its the bottom half of a miniature Boley vise that I'm casting for a friend, second half will be done today.

Having done shingling before, I know how much work it is. Nice job.
Nice jog Greg.
It's good to hear you are using staples. That roof I'm tearing off my son's barn has 5 or six nails in each shake. I can't imagine driving all of those by hand? Isn't it amazing how small those scaffolds look when they get that high?
