Thanks TOM
Wow !!! That is beautiful and picturesque
Is that pathway leading to Lake Michigan in the back there ???
So U must be very close to Canada and Greg ??
Knew somebody living in Traverse City, also on the shore of Lake Michigan
"....bit of snow" - Gosh, the whole Lake freezes over, right ??
aRM
Yes that is Lake Michigan on the background. We are in Naubinway, which is on the the northern most point and about an hour and a half from the Canadian border.

The lake never totally freezes over because of its depth down toward Chicago, but it did reach over 90% in the winter of 2015.

Tom
Last evening's project, clearly unrelated to machining.

Completely, totally a visual impact project rather than performance I dressed up some Monoprice #2817 12-2 CL2 jacketed speaker wire. It's a "Tech-Flex" braided sheathing, Monoprice banana plugs, KnuKoncepts "cable pants" and some heat shrink tubing in two colors.

This has absolutely ZERO impact on sound quality. I did it because I wanted pretty, my floor standing speakers are away from the walls by 17" and entryway doors afford a view of the back of them. I spent about $100 total but that included $30 for a Porter Cable PC1500HG heat gun, and I have enough materials to make a few more.

Clearly machinist related as any other "normal" person would have said, the speakers sit about a foot and a half away ....... No you say 17" and they probably are 17" inches and you know this because you measured.

Yep definitely machining related!
I blatantly ripped off Rob Wilson's air tool rack and also Greg's use of a hoist as a paint drying rack!

Sorry about the pic quality - I used my phone and only just noticed that I didn't show the actual slots Slaphead You can see all that in Rob's thread through (link above) Big Grin

I have now freed up three drawers and most of the air tools are now in one place.  I have also made up a short five slot one, with 50mm centre to centre spacing (the big ones are 100mm spacing) that will hold my tyre inflater and some air dusters.  That will live next to the air compressor and hoses.
Graemlin ... uh, Darren. Smile
Thanks Willie,

I just took inventory of what is at my other shop and I am going to have to make another one! I need capacity for at least four more tools. I'm going to make another six tool rack and mount it behind the one on the right. The less frequently used tools will go onto the rear rack.

I think the thought that I can use use a hoist as a paint drying rack is all I will need to finally convince Bev that I need must have one.

True, adjustable for standing, sitting or after falling on the floor.
