Other reasons would be:
- to prevent you from disturbing here to come out to the shop to help you lift something off of your truck.
- save on medical bills and insurance by reducing back injuries (also prevents here from having to be your carer 24/7 (even more so than usual)).
- enabling you to get her really big presents for those special occasions and not spoiling the surprise by having to get her to help unload.
I charge a customer $350, for a formed 3/16" metal angle, one 2" leg, one 3" leg, 7 inches long with 11 holes drilled in it.
I probably should fell some shame. but I don't.
How much do you have invested in your machine tools, measuring devices, tooling, etc.
$350 is just about right, especially for one who lacks the skill to make anything out of metal.
What did the customer do? Insult the color of your mill?

if he had the part would have been at least 4 digits left of the decimal point.
I do want to know, who thought WHITE was a viable color for a mill or lathe, within a week my mine looked like crap.

After I first got my 9" SB I had to make some repairs and clean it up. I wanted something other than grey so I painted it International Harvester white, more of a cream color. I will never make that mistake again.
I painted my Quorn Tool and Cutter Grinder white deliberately so grinding dust showed up well. Made a thorough clean up far easier, and I never regretted it despite a bit of chaffing from John S for doing it !

I sure hope that was $350 plus materials!!!
And yes you should feel shame unless there is more to the story.
Thanks guys, you've solved the mystery as to why my shop always looks so dirty, the mill and the big lathe are (were) white.
