close enough for me seeing as how I measured mine with a cheap chinese micrometerSmiley-dancenanaSmiley-dancenanaSmiley-dancenanaRotfl
most on here know that the motor on my mill burned up, after some thinking and soul searching I think it may of got a taste of lightening awhile back when both myself and the guy across the fence got hit, he lost a bunch of stuff up front, the day it happened I lost the HDMI port on my TV (no big deal) and the video card in my computer (Minor deal)

But I know from working on industrial stuff (asphalt plants) that some things don't show up for a while.

Anyway I received a motor that fit my mill, same dimensions motors actually physically bigger but from looking at name plates half a horse smaller then the burned up one. It came with a problem, the shaft is half and inch longer which makes it bottom out in the socket before the motor sits flat on the mill head. Now I could just stick some hacked out spacers under it, or leave the pair of 3/4 inch Parallels under it that are residing there now, but where's the fun in that SO I got out in the back yard yesterday and whipped up a spacer ring that I poured out of Aluminum.

heres some photos.

I wish I had the facilities to "whip up" castings. Big Grin

Nice job on the spacer, that should work well and you get to keep your parallels for holding other stuff up. Thumbsup

Mayhem I'll see about taking some shots of it and post them up to you. I based the muller off of one built by Steve Chastian, but I made a lot of changes to it in the drive as I didn't think I needed one as heavy as he built his. He got into actually casting a gear box case for his which I didn't see that I needed. Actually a right angle gear box of about a 40 to 1 ratio is pretty much the right speed. the drive shaft is pretty heavy I used a piece of 1 7/16" round bar to make mine out of.

here's the photos of the spacer ready to install under the motor as soon as a buddy of mine shows up to lend a hand to slide the spacer in when I pick the motor up.

Don't raise the bridge. Lower the river! Smiley-dancenana

A friends father told me years ago, what he saw in the service in WWII. A "carpenter" using a hatchet on the wooden floor of an office, because the door scraped... Chin
That's a nice looking motor you have there David. Thumbsup
That spacer is not bad either. Big Grin
