Hey, this the Metalworking FUN forum, what's fun about cnc? Close the door, push the button and try to peer through the coolant on the other side of the window. What's fun about that?Sleep

Agreed. I'm CNC-less for the moment and can't wait to get back into it.

No CNC for me...yet. A friend of mine (who Russ will be meeting with soon at a Haas open house) has an Alliant Bridgeport-clone that is set up as a ProtoTrak CNC machine. When he sells off his two Matsuura CNC vertical machining centers and moves them out, I'll be buying the Alliant for a very fair price to replace my dad's beat-up Bridgeport. I can't get it out until machines are moved, unless I take it apart. That's not going to happen! ;)
Steve has a point but I think a small CNC plasma table would be wonderful. Smiley-gen163

Very interesting stuff this CNC carry on
I have seen a few working
The nearest thing i have used was a roller copier for a burning torch

Ed, actually I had been dreaming about a small cnc plasma table (4' x 8') Until we moved here to NS (the land of "you can get that here"). I have abandoned any thought of putting my shop to work for remuneration as I did back In ON/QC so shop expansion/advancement is out. I'm gonna try to organize and refurbish my machinery from here on.

4' x 8'! You call that small? I''m talking 2' x 2' or maybe 3' x 3' at the most. I gotta get out more. Chin
