Finally, I can look like I got something done.   Blush   I finished up converting my 11" SB lathe over to 3-phase by swapping in a new Baldur motor.  It's not real exciting but I did have to make an adjustable mount to fit the new motor to the old bolt pattern.  My old motor was pretty much shot (but I'll look at rebuilding it later just because. Cool ) and had a 5" x 5" bolt pattern whereas the new motor (NEMA 145T) is a 5" x 5.5".   I could have drilled and tapped new holes in the lathe drive but that just goes against my grain.

Amen to that.  I'm guessing 1 1/2" to 2" thick, 18 to 24 inches wide by 12+ feet long.  That's a valuable stack of lumber. Thumbsup

After sharpening the knives in the thickness planer I broke it real good.

Not sure what started the chain of events, pun intended, but in the end the shaft out of the gear box split at the keyway, the sprocket on it broke, the chain snapped and the shaft of the recently replaced feed roller broke. So I have to say I broke it real good, and for no apparent reason. First check on line was $500 american for parts and shipping. OUCH.

Its a 15 inch Makita I bought back in the early 80's Ed. Wouldn't want to guess the amount of lumber thats gone through it. Had to replace the rubber drive rollers a couple of years ago and a set of brushes. Been pretty trouble free.

I replaced both bearing in the milling machine transmission, I had one bearing go bad and decided if I was going to take the transmission apart, I should change both of them while I had it apart. All back together and working fine.
