The wheels posed a bit of a problem, so we used moped rims made our own hubs and re'spoked them, an interesting exercise for a modern lad.

Thanks Steve. I will try again. the book of the clock is taking most of my time lately, some 9358 words 171 photos 27 drawings so far.
On with the work.
we built a "A" frame chassis and installed the engine.

And made a external contracting brake.

I think its time I finished this thread,The clock and poor health have taken all of my time but things are now on the up so I will continue.
Having made the wheels we then could calculate the angles required for the steering and the axle was made.

Next came the steering box a simple chain and sprocket adapted to make a rack and pinion.

We now had a mobile chassis that we could move. so it was transferred from the machine shop to the automotive dept.

a radiator was made from copper tube an installed along side the engine.

Body work and seating was added.

Ready for a test run.

The lighting was made.

And the car given a coat of paint.

Hey Brian, it's good to have you back!

I had forgotten about this project and was surprised to see it re-surface. It's great to see such a complicated finished and working to plan. It must have been quite a task to keep all of that young energy focused and moving in the right direction.
