nice job on the key's your probably right that the first one's were forged with a hammer and the tumble slots were filed by hand. The harder part would be to make the locks that the keys fit.

Yes that would be much harder, I had one to copy off so wasn't too bad, but there was a side door near the alter that hadn't been opened in living memory,& I had to take the lock off & make a key to suit & that was more of a challenge but got there in the end,I do love a challenge but don't like getting out of my depth.
