Darren, no apology needed. It's true I said I would post if there was interest, that also includes my interest. Lazynes often trumps interest in my thinkingRotfl.
Rick, et al, if there are any points of interest or curiosity don't hesitate to ask, friends trump lazynessBlush

Here's my big saw. In this pic it is tied down, I was in the middle of moving stuff in the shop. It is an 'Elite Mfg' saw. I haven't been able to find ANYTHING about it online, but it works. It is running a 1" band now, should be 3/4". I think it is 8x13 or something...

I use a HF red saw for my vertical saw, I put a little table made of 1/4" plate on it and use it a lot. Works great, I sit on the end of the stand. Perfect... this pic is just after it arrived. I clamped a plate on the existing vertical table and put a stack of shop towels on the end of the stand for my butt. Big Grin

Now that's nice, what sort of throat does the vertical saw have? And is that a blade welder? I have a similar machine (but Asian built) with variable speed and a blade welder with 16"of throat.
Best regards
Rick

Its a Grob 4v-18. it has a 18" throat and 12" of height, it has a blade welder but seems to work best on carbon steel blades. I mostly use bimetal ones. It can use blades from 1/8 to 1" in width. It has a 4 speed trans and a variable speed adjustment for anything between. It has air over hydraulic table feed also.

Your Elite saw looks like my old Carolina, I've been using mine for over 15 yrs. No problems. They can be set up vertical also.
