I glass beaded the rust off the inside and outside of the receiver and i can't believe how smooth the old action works. I put a small radius on the point of the cam on the lever and there wasn't a matching groove in the carrier like i have been reading about so i don't think this old girl has been shot much in the last 109 years. I need to fit the new bolt carrier as the old one is in the pics. I am going to give the receiver a full metal sanding to make it smooth for bluing. Still waiting for my barrel blank to come. I have some vacation next week so i can fit the blank to it...Bob

Well today i got my new bolt carrier at least to slide into the receiver slot as it should. But now my lever won't close all the way. I think there is some binding with the new bolt as where the lever goes in it has a square corner and the old bolt was cut on a 45. There is a distinct mark in the lever from the bind and its on that corner. Off to find a Dremel...Bob

Well i ground the corner off my new bolt carrier so the lever will close it all the way now without binding. Going to cut some practice threads on some round stock before i cut into my new barrel since its prob the last one in the country. And i need to make a spider for my lathe spindle end...Bob
