Great job Brian, we're experiencing rain here in Nova Scotia and it's preferred to the normal snow (unless you're in flood prone areas.).

Next job was to fit the cam sub assy and the oilers, this means the gears have to fit properly so it was a slowly slowly job.

[attachment=9935]

Fitting the screws to locate the gear.

[attachment=9936]

Seting up the gears.

[attachment=9937]

Fitting oilers.

I also made a start on the carb. after spending hrs on the CAD trying to figure it out.

The diaphragm and valve have been ordered for the on demand regulator.  so things are quite busy at the moment.

Yesterday was a big day,  the engine now has valves in place and rockers so you can see it all wiggling when the engine is turned

Simple things please simple minds so they say.

Valves are held in place by the pin and cup method, simple but effective.

It now looks like a engine.

Still more work to do on the rockers to lighten them.
Waiting for the plug and head gasket material to arrive.
Carb is under construction.
Diaphragm for on demand gas regulator is ordered
Thinking about ignition timing ??????
Go--Go--Go.

No problem Tom.

It's going to get cold for this next week but next Saturday's forecast is for a high of 45F. That's a long way off so we'll see if it materializes. In the meantime, my lawn is almost bare of snow now. It's snowing north and south of me in Minnesota but the mid-section is just getting light flurries.

Ed

P.S. Sorry for the hi-jack Brian. Blush

Hi jack away Ed ___ Tom __Dave and all .. it's nice to know you are looking, this is the most responsive site out of the three that I post on. It takes me ages to prepare all this and a reply is very nice. Lots of people look and pass on without even a grunt. We are having hail and strong winds and the forecast is for a lot more of the same.

Thanks for looking Brian.
