RE: Log Splitter - vtsteam - 02-07-2015

Hi Steve, I had to go and check, because I couldn't remember the wheel at all! Oddly enough, it's right at your toes about 8" out from the side log supports on the right side of the machine. Which means I have been probably stooping somewhat for 4 years without noticing it.

I don't know the height because the tires are in ice and the splitter is also blocked up on the left side, since it's on a pretty good slope. I was working the uphill side in the fall, so maybe the stoop was lessened. Wish it was spring -- I could figure it out better! Actually I wish it was spring for a lot of reasons!

I don't wish it were spring so much as I wish I was sunning myself on a beach in the Maldives Islands.

Permanently.

Ken, the closest thing to that I could imagine is getting into a timing bed and having someone off me with a .45.
At least that's all I could afford.Bawling

Brian Rupnow designed and built his own wood splitter, a fly wheel rack and pinion type.
Here is a video of it in operation

The build is here http://www.modelenginemaker.com/index.php?topic=4621.0

Dave, if your looking at making an impulse splitter, go big or go home.
