Repairing a rotted out farm tractor rim. - aametalmaster - 07-12-2014
My brother in law called and asked if i could patch his wheel. I said sure do it all the time. Guess i should have looked at it first. Its only missing 26" of metal :) So i pondered it for about 5 minutes and found some 1/8" flat stock in my rack of different sizes. Cut it and rolled it on my slip roll. Now to cut out the rust and get the parts fitted in the big hole. More pics tomorrow...Bob

Here she is from the big hole to the end. My brother in law can grind it how ever he wants i have the hard part done...Bob

Nice job Bob.
I have a couple of wheels like that as well. They don't fair very well sitting under an oak tree for 20 years with no air in the tires. Luckily mine are available for $120 new if I can't find some used ones. I probably will be doing some rust repair on the hood though, those are a bit more pricey.
