Lathe spindle mounted boring head. - aametalmaster - 04-10-2012

Here was a little project i made with a boring head that was given to me and i have no mill to use it on. So i adapted to to my SBL 10K's spindle. I have used it a few times but the most it gets used is when i cut the round bolt knob off of Remington 700 bolts to thread for a longer bolt knob. I made some arbors (i always make extra) and already had the long threaded shaft to hold the arbor in the spindle since i use it with #3 mt milling cutter. Enjoy...Bob

Bob,
Might as well mod it to make it useful, no use just sitting in a drawer. Smiley-signs107

Not too sure what you are doing in the very last photo?

My guess is he's "turning" something that's impossible to chuck using the boring head.

Bob, I would like to see that next time you get around to doing one, if you don't mind. Popcorn
[Edit:] Oooops... I should have read further ahead in the threads. Thanks Bob!

Make up a center to put in that boring head and pop it in the tail stock for doing quick tapers. Smile
