I definitely sense a large area of negative pressure originating from Vinny's direction.  Chin

Picked up the steel today. That stuff is HEAVY! The 4x4's aren't 1/4" like I thought. They're 5/16" thick. It was a pain to load but unloading wasn't bad. Pulled the hilo up to the back of the truck, raised the forks even with the tailgate and slid them on. I didn't bother taking them off the forks, I just moved them where I figure I'll store them for now, dropped the forks and parked it. Seeing as how thick they are, looks like a plasma cutter is in my not too distant future. I've got my eye on a 50A pilot arc.

Poured rain most of the day yesterday so when I got home before it started raining any harder I took some quick pics. Here they is:

I'm not worried about the cuts in them, I'll make use out of 'em.

Great score. Those aren't rusty, thats prep for the paint. I clean mine up with a flap wheel on the grinder, the rough surface holds paint far better than new metal.

Planning on starting on this tomorrow. Don't know if I'll get to the stick welding but I hope to at least tack it. When it comes to the stick welding portion, is 3/32" 6011 rod ok? The steel is both 1/4" and 5/16" thick.

whatever your comfortable with is what works best. Me I'd use 1/8 7018 but that's just me.
