Illuminated Welding Helmet - EdK - 05-03-2015

I'm seriously considering trying this on my HF helmet and if it works reasonably well, I'll modify my more expensive Northern Tool helmet.

Clever idea that.

Neat idea

Yeah, good idea but for $25 from a big box store one of these puts out a whole lot more light, and it's useful for other jobs as well.  Smiley-gen163

Willie,

I've been that route already and it didn't work very well for me. I do use it for other things though, just not for welding.

That is understandable Ed. When it comes to welding, one size does not fit all. You have to do whatever it takes to make things comfortable for you. If you aren't comfortable with your position, grip, working height, lighting, etc, .... you change things up until you are. Just because a shade 10 or 11 works for most people, doesn't mean squat to me when I know a shade 9 works better for me.  Smiley-eatdrink004

I could never get the light shining on the place where I was trying to weld. Either my body blocked it or the piece I was working on blocked it.
