Nice job Ed .. I didnt have these step blocks on my to do list but since i saw them again and ya did such a nice job you gave me inspiration to putem on the list . Right now i started on a set a paralels or my new mill vice, once im done with them i may start this project .
I like the thumb knob design w/ the added touch . Did you press fit make (a 2 pc knob) or other thanks

Thanks Kenny.

I pinned the knob to the bolt using a brass pin so it doesn't show up. There's not a lot of pressure on the knob since it's just used to keep the leafs from flopping around when using them and when on the shelf.

I made this spin indexer tailstock for my, well, spin indexer.  Smile

The first picture is not of my spin indexer tail stock but of the original designers version. It showed me what it should look like when I got mine done. I made a few changes to the design when I made mine.

i was in the middle of designing a tailstock for my RT and an indexer i am going to purchase, thats a perfect design i need, very clever.  Nice work on your one as well very sleek....

Ed thanks yes i fig you pinned Bolt to knob but  i was referring to the knob  outside and inner diam looks like a press  fit or thats cosmetic?

The big knob is for locking the arbor once you've got it into position.

The knobs for the step blocks are made of one piece of brass. Maybe that decorative circle on the top is fooling you into thinking it's a two-piece part. I put that in with a 'V' shaped tool bit just for decoration.
