move the hole in the plate for the eye bolt towards the back of the lathe which will move the balance point so that you don't have to take the motor off again

Taking the motor off didn't help much so I came up with a different solution that worked, and was a whole lot simpler.

You make a good point though. I'll have to remember that if I ever have to move the lathe again.

Back end of the garage? It's not metal cutting (usually), won't make a mess (usually) and takes up little space for an infrequently used tool. The milling machine will get FAR more use.

Got the lathe light and power wiring moved over so the lathe is now usable. That is after I give it a good cleaning before I reattach the back splash and motor.  Smile
Amazing how long it took to move the light and wiring. I guess I'm getting slower as I plunge deep into oldicis farticis.
