I need a sanity check before I attempt lifting the mill off of the pallet tomorrow. Is this going to work?  17428

I see no reason why it shouldn't Ed.

Should work Ed.

Ya forgot the duck tape.  Every Southern Engineer "knows" everything works better with duck tape.

Oh, that's right you're in Minnesota.  Never mind. Big Grin

That's actually quite a bit of overkill. You should be able to lift your car with that setup.

Good. That's what I wanted to hear. Now I'm not so concerned. Big Grin

Finally some progress with the mother ship. Got it safely off of the pallet and onto the floor. I thought the front end was going to dip much more than it did. It sits solidly on the floor with no rocking at all and if does the same when I get it down into the basement I don't think I'll need any levelling feet. It looks like it might be at the ideal height for my short stature.  Chin

I was surprised that the mounting holes were tapped. I thought they would be just through holes. They must be metric since they're larger than 5/8 and a 3/4 bolt doesn't fit the threads. It must be 19mm.

Tomorrow I'll attempt to get it on its back on the sled.  Sweat

Anything further since we last saw the base lying on its "sled"?

Only a small amount. I've been sick with a respiratory bug for three weeks. Yesterday I finally felt somewhat normal and got a little done on preparing it for the move. I've done almost nothing on anything while I was sick. Sadno

Glad to hear you are feeling better Ed. Probably not a good idea to tackle this project if you are not feeling well and fully alert.
