Either that or my original setup was wimpy. I'll rerun it but using the Noga instead of the cheap one and see if the results are different. I found a video on YouTube that shows how to check to see if the gibs are too loose. I'll run that test also.
I trammed the mill this evening so I'm close to letting the chips fly.

The best I could get it is about .00175 across the 22" of travel. I'm not sure if that's good or not but I'm done with fiddling with it and I'm going to go ahead and start using it.

It's starting to look like a mill and the shop is finally coming back together. And yes, that's twine holding on that temporary control box on the mill.

So thats whats a milling machine's base looks like, I haven't seen mine in years. Mine is covered with adjustable angle tables, chunks of round and square stock and misc stuff.
DAMN!! thet floor is SO clean, I would not be alb;e to sleep at night.........................
