HSS Find - TomG - 12-05-2015

I stopped at a used tool outlet to check out a table saw for my son and found some premium high speed steel. Cleveland Mo-Max cobalt and Crucible Steel's REX  is some of the best U.S. made HSS and at $3 and $5 a piece, about half the prices on eBay if you can find it. It's a simple thing, but I'm pretty geeked (my wife doesn't appreciate it at all).

I bought some of the Mo-Max from MSC some years ago and paid a lot more than that.

The nice thing is, he had a whole bin full of the stuff. I'll be going back for sure without the wife, so I can have more time to look around. Big Grin

Nice grab Tom. Thumbsup

My late FIL gave me a box full of lathe bits when he retired. Had several pieces of the Mo-MAX in there. Good stuff indeed.

I bought a box of both of those HSS bits a few years ago on eBay for a steal. It's pretty much a lifetime supply for me.
